First impressions matter – as a performer (actor, dancer, vocalist, etc.), your headshot is likely to be the first image a casting director sees on your CV or on Spotlight. While a strong headshot might not land you the role, a bad headshot won’t even get you to the casting.
Your headshot is an investment in your career – be it as an actor, dancer or vocalist.
Your headshot is the primary image you present to the professional world and it does count – you will be judged on that headshot. You want to be noticed, but for the right reasons (not because your headshot is simply bad … that’s the wrong sort of notice and it won’t help you).
We know this and we take the time to get the best from you. These aren’t rushed 30-minute sessions (though if we get the shots in 30 minutes we’ll be delighted!) – our standard hour and a half sessions allow us lots of time to ensure that you get what you want and need from your image.
We don’t want to to sell you lots headshot images, just a small number of the really great ones. We don’t show anything but the best images – why would you do differently? We can do both quantity and quality, but a professional portfolio just needs a small selection of the strongest images (not just more of the same).
All our images get our expertise in retouching and post-processing – just to make you look your best (if you don’t look good, we don’t look good and we never deliver anything but our best from a session). Our retouching is about minor cosmetic fixes because your headshot has to be a fair and recognisable representation of you when you rock up to a casting.
You are a performer – your business is your image and your image is your business … do you want that image to say “great” or “mediocre”? (we don’t do “mediocre”!)
For something as important as your professional image we are not unaffordable. Our headshot sessions for actors, dancers and vocalists start from £180. For dancers (or any other performer requiring more than headshots), a longer portfolio session starts at £190.
The question you have to ask yourself is can you afford not to have a good headshot?
We provide both colour and B&W copies of each purchased image and a range of crops including the upright 10×8 required by Spotlight. Any colour digital image can, of course, be converted to B&W, but we think we do that with a little more flare than simply pressing a filter button and getting dull grey skin tones – we’d rather handle that for you.
